Venue and Practicalities
The congress begins on 5 October 2020 with an evening reception hosted by the Finnish Minister of Science and Culture. The reception takes place at the House of the Estates in Helsinki, in the district of Kruununhaka.
The two full days of programme take place on 6-7 October 2020 in Aalto University, Espoo. Our conference venue is Dipoli, the main building of Aalto University and one of the most significant buildings in modern Finnish architecture.
The neighbouring cities of Espoo and Helsinki are safe and modern seaside cities. Helsinki is the capital of Finland, a compact and walkable city by the Baltic Sea. Espoo is home to Aalto University, a multidisciplinary university that specialises in science, art, technology, and business.
In early October, the weather in southern Finland is crisp and cool and the autumn foliage is beautiful. Average daytime temperatures range from 5°C to 10°C, so pack warm clothes for the outdoors and prepare for occasional rain.
