Welcome to the congress!

We are delighted to invite you to the ENRIO 2020 Congress on Research Integrity Practice. This congress takes place on 5-7 October 2020 in Helsinki and in Espoo, Finland.

This first European congress on research integrity practices addresses current challenges that open science and data protection laws pose for research integrity in Europe. Other key topics include the many aspects of research misconduct (prevention, investigation, handling cases), whistle-blower protection especially with regard to the new EU directive, research integrity training, and the connections between research integrity and scientific publishing.

The congress is hosted by the European Network of Research Integrity Offices (ENRIO), the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK and Aalto University.

Programme

The ENRIO 2020 Congress on Research Integrity Practice opens the new European congress series that brings together experts to discuss and develop research integrity practices.

The key themes of ENRIO2020 are the current challenges that European data protection laws and open science pose for research and research integrity practices. Other key topics include the many aspects of research misconduct (prevention, investigations, dealing with allegations), whistle-blower protection, research integrity training, research integrity and scientific publishing, and more.

Call for papers

We invite you to submit abstracts for research presentations, EU project presentations, and workshops. The research presentations and project presentations can be given either as talks or as posters.

The call for papers is now open.

Second circular

The call for papers closes on 1 February 2020 for workshop proposals and 17 February 2020 for research abstracts and project abstracts.

The abstracts will be reviewed by the programme committee.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent in March 2020 for the workshop proposals and April 2020 for the research and project presentations.

Registration information

Congress Venue

The congress begins on 5 October 2020 with an evening reception by the Finnish Minister of Science and Culture. This reception takes place at the House of the Estates in Helsinki.

The two full days of programme take place on 6-7 October 2020 in Aalto University, Espoo. Our conference venue is Dipoli, the main building of Aalto University and one of the most significant buildings in modern Finnish architecture.

Practical Information

Sustainability

Travel and accommodation are the biggest CO2 emissions for conferences.

We also encourage you to arrange meetings for your own international networks when you are in Finland. There is an opportunity to reserve meeting spaces in Dipoli the day after the conference (8 October, 2020). Please contact office@enrio.eu for enquiries.

For reasons of sustainability, we supply the conference bags only with items we consider necessary.

We encourage you to use public transportation when in Finland.

Aalto University has signed the international Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Accord as the first Finnish university.
