Welcome to the congress!

We are delighted to invite you to the ENRIO 2020 Congress on Research Integrity Practice. This congress takes place on 5-7 October 2020 in Helsinki and Espoo, Finland. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC, THE CONGRESS HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO 27-29 SEPTEMBER, 2021.

This first European congress on research integrity practice addresses current challenges that open science and data protection laws pose for research integrity in Europe. Other key topics include the many aspects of research misconduct (prevention, investigation, handling cases), whistleblower protection especially with regard to the new EU directive, research integrity training, and the connections between research integrity and scientific publishing.

Programme

The ENRIO 2020 Congress on Research Integrity Practice opens a new European congress series that brings experts together to discuss and develop research integrity practices.

The current challenges that European data protection laws and open science pose for research and research integrity practice are the key topics of ENRIO2020. The congress addresses also research misconduct (prevention, investigations, dealing with allegations), whistleblower protection, research integrity training, research integrity and scientific publishing, and more.

Second circular

Update: The abstracts have been reviewed by the programme committee. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the congress has been rescheduled to 27-29 September 2021. People who have submitted proposals will be contacted during April 2021.

Registration information

Congress Venue

The congress takes place on 27-29 September 2021 in Dipoli at Aalto University in Espoo, Finland. Dipoli is the main building of Aalto University and one of the most significant buildings in modern Finnish architecture.

An evening reception by the Finnish Minister of Science and Culture takes place at the House of the Estates in Helsinki (date to be announced).

An evening reception by the City of Espoo takes place at the WeeGee Exhibition Centre in Espoo (date to be announced).

 

Practical Information

Sustainability

Travel and accommodation are the biggest CO2 emissions for conferences.

We encourage you to arrange meetings for your own international networks (please be in touch with the organisers about reserving space for meetings) and to use public transportation when you are in Finland. The conference bags will not include unnecessary items.

Aalto University has signed the international Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Accord as the first Finnish university.
